ShoeBox Tax School offers a comprehensive program designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate the complexities of tax preparation. Classes are taught in the hybrid style. Students may select to complete the course online (live only; pre-recorded sessions will not be offered), live at our office (see address below), or a combination of both to fit their schedule.
Basic Tax Preparation
The ShoeBox Tax School Basic Tax Preparation course is designed for those looking to become skilled tax preparers or improve their current tax preparation abilities. To sit for the Oregon Tax Board (OTB) Tax Preparer’s exam, a course with 80 hours of class time must be completed. Our 16 week course is customized by our instructor to best prepare all students to sit for the exam.
This curriculum includes:
- Tax Preparation Basics: Learn the essentials of preparing accurate and compliant tax returns.
- Deductions and Credits: Understand the various deductions and credits available to taxpayers.
- Real-World Scenarios: Practice with real-world tax situations to build practical experience.
At the completion of the course, students will have the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare taxes confidently and accurately. You will receive a certificate that will enable you to sit for the state-administered examination when you are ready.
